Welcome to Pennzoil Place

Completed in 1975 and designed by renowned architects Phillip Johnson and John Burgee, Pennzoil Place is considered a significant work of architecture in the United States.  The unique trapezoidal silhouette shape made Pennzoil Place the first skyscraper of the Post-Modern Era.

 

In 1979 Pennzoil Place made Hines history as the first sale of interest in a major project, and also the first sale transaction to an international investor, Deutsche Bank. In 1999 the current owner, Houston Pennzoil Place, L.P., purchased the building.  Hines managed Pennzoil Place from 1975 - 2009.  The property is now managed by Transwestern.
